How to Choose a Wet Dry Vacuum Manufacturer in China: A Buyer Checklist
Short answer: Before you compare prices, check that you are talking to the company that assembles the machine, that specs are given for each gear, how every unit is tested before packing, the sample time, the production lead time and the units per container. Send every supplier the same questions in writing, so you can compare the answers line by line.
Search for a wet dry vacuum manufacturer in China and you get platform listings and ranked lists. A ranked list cannot tell you if a factory fits your order, your market and your dates. The ten checks below can. We give our own numbers as examples, so you can see what a specific answer looks like. Our cordless wet dry vacuums, also called floor washers, are on the floor washers page.
1. Factory or trading company
Many suppliers call themselves a factory. Ask where the machine is assembled, how many assembly lines run there and since when. Get the factory address and ask if you can visit.
Our answer as an example: we have assembled our own appliances in Mudu, Suzhou since 2020, on 4 assembly lines in a 5,000+ m² factory and warehouse. Our R&D, QC and assembly teams work in the same building. You can visit us at No. 1477 Zangzhong Road, Mudu Town.
2. Specs for each gear
A wet dry vacuum has two speed settings or more. One suction number on a spec sheet does not tell you which gear it was measured on. Ask for suction, runtime and noise on each gear, plus charging time, tank sizes and weight. These numbers go on your box and your listing, so they have to match the product.
| Spec | Example: our GT8 series |
|---|---|
| Suction | 12 kPa High, 9 kPa Low |
| Runtime | 35 min High, 45 min Low |
| Noise | 78 dB High, 73 dB Low |
| Charging time | 5.5 h |
| Clean / dirty water tank | 485 ml / 400 ml |
| Net weight | 3 kg |
When the sample arrives, run it on both gears and compare with the sheet.
3. Motor and battery
Ask if the motor is brushless or brushed, and for the battery voltage and capacity. These decide suction, runtime and the price tier the model fits. Our GT6, GT8 and GT9 run on 25.9V brushless motors with a 2,600 mAh battery. The GT3 runs on a 22.2V brushed motor. Our brushless vs brushed guide compares the two.
4. How every unit is tested
A list of lab equipment shows what a factory owns. Ask what happens to each finished unit before it goes into the box:
- Incoming parts: who checks them before they reach the line.
- On the line: which tests run on finished units.
- Aging: is every unit run before packing, or only a few.
- Before shipment: who checks the finished order.
- Traceability: can a unit be traced back to its order.
At our factory, IQC checks incoming parts, IPQC inspects on the line and OQC checks finished goods. Every unit is aged in a 230 m² aging room with 3,000 positions before packing, and each unit is scanned and archived. When a problem comes up, our QC team writes an 8D improvement report.
5. Sample time
Ask how long a sample with your logo, colour and colour box takes. The sample you approve becomes the reference for mass production, so check it well. Our branded samples take 10 days. Our sample checklist lists 12 checks to run on it.
6. Lead times in days
Get the production lead time for a first order and for a repeat order, each in days. Ours are 45 days for a first order and 35 days for a repeat order. With two numbers you can plan the launch and the reorder.
7. Units per container
Freight is part of your landed cost. A good supplier gives you the package size and the units per 20GP, 40GP and 40HQ for each model. A slim package fits more than twice as many units in the same container.
| Series | Package size (mm) | Units per 20GP | Units per 40HQ |
|---|---|---|---|
| GT6 | 380 × 380 × 690 | 288 | 714 |
| GT8 series | 765 × 320 × 180 | 681 | 1,596 |
| GT9 series | 775 × 325 × 225 | 456 | 1,333 |
| GT3 | 580 × 440 × 160 | 710 | 1,720 |
The 40GP numbers are in our container loading guide.
8. What you can change
Ask for a written list of what changes under your brand and what stays fixed. On our existing models you change the logo, the body colour and the colour box. The motor, battery, tanks and specs stay as they are, which keeps the sample quick. Our OEM vs ODM guide explains how factories use these terms.
9. Documents for your market
Name your target country and the model, then ask which documents the supplier can provide for that model now. Ask to see them before you order, and check that the model name on each document matches the product you buy. We confirm the available documents for your model and market together with the quotation.
10. How clearly they answer
Send every supplier the same short request: model type, quantity, target market and branding. Then count how many of your questions each reply answers with a number. Our quote request guide has a template you can copy.
The questions in one list
Where is the machine assembled, and how many assembly lines do you run? Suction, runtime and noise on each gear? Motor type, battery voltage and capacity? Which tests run on every finished unit before packing? How long does a branded sample take? Production lead time for a first order and a repeat order? Package size and units per 20GP, 40GP and 40HQ? What can I change under my brand, and what stays fixed? Which documents are available for my model and market?
Full specs and container loading for all four of our series are on the floor washers page.
